about

Greg WinnAs an aspiring web developer & designer, my favorite program (at the age of eight, when I received my first computer) was Microsoft Paint. I began my official development practice at fourteen, picked up HTML and my first domain at sixteen, and designed for my first client at seventeen.

I helped to build and develop intelagamer.com. At that point, I acquired my first dedicated server from Interland. Tacticalzone.com, a community site for the NovaLogic video game, Delta Force, which I had developed earlier, became my first sale to Playnet Inc. in 2002.

At eighteen, I took my grassroots web design to a higher level by creating gowinn.com, a web design and hosting company for small businesses. I continued my work during a stint in the Air Force, maintaining my skills through a growing practice. I began professional work with Cincinnati Web Works, and later moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area where I worked with Ackerman McQueen, Match.com, and Blastoff Communications.

In 2010, I founded Winn Consulting & Development, Inc., offering new site development, design, Multimedia, Server maintenance, site maintenance, and database design.

My collection of programming skills includes XHTML, CSS, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python, ASP, ASP.NET in VB, MySQL, SQL, Javascript and Ajax. I continue to quickly build my repertoire with the most up-to-date languages.

Software I use on a day-to-day basis is as follows: TextMate for programming in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, or XHTML; Aptana for Ruby on Rails; and Visual Studio 2008 for .NET or ASP classic. For graphics and design, I use Photoshop CS3. All of the software I use runs on either the MacBook Pro or Windows 03 desktop.
